A New Chapter: Empowerment Through Beauty in 2025
Founder's Letter - by Tomi Talabi
Hello 🧡,
I’m thrilled to welcome you into an exciting new chapter for The Black Beauty Club, filled with fresh beginnings, major milestones, and the promise of more. Looking back on 2024, I can’t help but beam at our rollercoaster ride. From fabulous moments in Paris last March to testing new, bold initiatives at home, our collective spirit amazes me.
As we step into 2025, we’re reinforcing our core mission, vision, and values and reaffirming our commitment to aligning Black communities across the global diaspora through the power of beauty. This year’s theme, “Empowerment Through Beauty,” reminds us that our work goes far beyond aesthetics. We are fostering transformative experiences, highlighting the brilliance of Black culture, and uplifting our community at every turn.
Our calendar is already brimming with dynamic events. First up is our wellness event this January, followed by our inaugural Black History Month flagship event—a dream long in the making. None of this would be possible without our team's remarkable talents and dedication: Utibe Mbagwu, Mimi Sillah, Andrew Staple, Tatiana Monet, Brittany Thompson, Courtney Liburd, and our brilliant newsletter editor, Kori Clay. The Black Beauty Club thrives because of them—period!
We’re also thrilled about our upcoming collaborations, especially with NARS Cosmetics. Stay tuned for our big announcement on January 17, 2025.
Courtney Liburd or Andrew Staple are your points if your brand wants to be part of this journey. We love welcoming new partners and crafting experiences that spotlight our beauty, culture, and creativity.
Thank you for riding with us. Let’s make 2025 our most memorable and impactful year.
Lets go,
Tomi Talabi

Essence Iman stepped away from The Established with a clear vision for the future of beauty. As a strategist, she now supports Black beauty entrepreneurs in building successful, lasting brands. Essence’s bold creativity and authentic approach inspire a new generation of founders to find and embrace unique voices and shine in a saturated industry.

Blake Newby swapped the anchor desk for the beauty arena, captivating fans with her dynamic perspective. From setting trends at Glamour to revolutionizing standards at Essence, Blake’s fearless vision and magnetic presence inspire her social audience and beauty entrepreneurs to break barriers and embrace their brilliance.

French beauty standards have long been confined to a narrow ideal, but Black French women are breaking the mold with their vibrant styles and rich cultural heritage. They have transformed outdated norms by blending quintessential French elegance with bold, authentic flair. This pivotal movement is redefining beauty in France and paving the way for a more inclusive and dynamic industry.
